CHELSEA NOW IN TALKS WITH KEY FIGURE WHO LEFT TOTTENHAM IN 2016

Chelsea have held talks with Paul Mitchell over a move to Stamford Bridge after he left Tottenham in 2016.

CHELSEA INTERVIEW PAUL MITCHELL

Well, the 41-year-old helped bring the likes of Dele Alli and Heung-min Son to Tottenham while working alongside Mauricio Pochettino, before a fallout with Daniel Levy saw him leave Spurs in 2016.

Mitchell is currently working as Sporting Director at Monaco after a period as Head of Recruitment and Development at RB Leipzig, although Chelsea are interested in bringing him back to London.

Todd Boehly has identified the Englishman as an option to become the new Director of Football at Stamford Bridge, where he would work alongside the newly appointed Graham Potter.

Victor Orta – who currently works at Leeds – is also on the shortlist, along with Michael Edwards, Monchi, Tim Steidten, Lee Congerton and Luis Campos.

Chelsea have made Edwards their No.1 target, although the transfer expert is insistent of taking a break from football until 2023 after deciding to leave Liverpool at the end of last season.
